(includes lunch) \n*All participants will need to cover their own travel expenses for the training.  \n*NAFCC Observations have the option to be virtual or in-person for the FCC homes\, so you don’t always have to travel to do an Observation but you do have to attend on-site training that will train you to be an Observer. \nPlease read all of the information below to see if you are eligible at this time. \nNAFCC Observer Job Description \nWhat does a NAFCC Observer do?\nA NAFCC observer completes an on-site and/or virtual observation of accreditation operational practices that align with the accreditation quality standards. \nKey Responsibilities: \n\nRespect and understand the NAFCC Accreditation process and its history and observation procedures and process.\nObserve the applicant and the application of their skills and operation practices in their FCC environment.\nUse the Observer Workbook to accurately document the application of the quality standards.\nPrepare the observation report and submit the required documents within the agreed timeline.\nUtilize good communication\, organizational\, time management\, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with NAFCC staff and accreditation candidates.\nSummarize the applicant’s understanding of the accreditation quality standards during the observation process.\nAdhere to and apply the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.\nMaintain required training as determined by NAFCC\nMaintain confidentiality of records\nHave an ability to separate your role as an observer from other professional roles.\nRecognize the importance of distinguishing between your personal definitions of quality versus those established by the accreditation standards.\nBe respectful of differing perspectives and cultures.\nBe unbiased and have the ability to not impose personal biases when conducting an applicant’s observation.\n\nNAFCC Observer Eligibility Requirements \nNAFCC values the role of an Observer as a critical link in the accreditation process. \nMinimum requirements for observer applicants: \n\nBe a member of the National Association for Family Child Care\nBe at least 21 years old\nMust commit to a full 2 day training that will be held on Wednesday & Thursday\, October 11 -12\, 2023\nPossess technical knowledge and tools to conduct observations virtual and in-person\nAble to conduct a minimum of 3 observations per year\nAvailable to travel (up to 100 miles or more if necessary) to conduct observations\n\nApplicants must meet the following requirements: \n\nPossess a minimum of one year of experience conducting training for adult learners.\nParticipation in Early Childhood Education\, Child Development\, or related training courses in three of the past five years\n\nApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: \n\nHave a high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education; or\nBe a degreed professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field; or\nBe CDA credentialed with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Early Childhood Care field\n\nObserver compensation for completed observations:\n$125.00 per observation\, plus mileage\, hotel and travel reimbursement based upon pre-approval. \n
