FFCCHA Upcoming Virtual Training
January 31, 2026 (Sat) – Virtual Training – 9:00 – 11:00 am
AI Basics for Family Child Care (FCC) Educators 2 hours
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces FCC educators to AI (artificial intelligence) in plain language and shows how it can support day-to-day work—without replacing the relationships and professional expertise that make FCC programs special. Participants will learn what AI can and can’t do, explore common tools for text, images, and video, and get a simple walkthrough of using ChatGPT for planning, communication, and problem-solving. We’ll cover how to write effective prompts, demonstrate real FCC use cases (lesson ideas, documentation, newsletters, and policies), and discuss safety, privacy, and ethical considerations. The session closes with easy ways to stay current with AI without feeling overwhelmed.
Presenter: Bill Hudson, Director and co-founder of the Family Child Care Alliance of Maryland
